Obituary for Jay Franklin Gurley

Mr. Jay Franklin Gurley, age 37 of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017.

Jay was born in East Point, Georgia on March 9, 1980, the son of Jimmy Franklin Gurley and Bonnie Edmondson Gurley. He was the team leader for the maintenance technicians at Decostar Industries and was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Rockmart, Georgia. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, playing the guitar and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Brianna Lynn Gurley; sons, Jesse Gurley, James Gurley; parents, Jimmy and Bonnie Gurley of Ranburne, Alabama; sister and brother-in-law, Christy and Andy Traylor of Carrollton; nephew, Cody Traylor; niece, Kelsey Traylor; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donna and Barry Bentley of Villa Rica; sister-in-law, Vanna Bryce of Dallas, Georgia; brother-in-law, Shawn Crankshaw of Villa Rica; nephews, Austin Kittrell, Ashtyn Bryce and lots of uncles, aunts, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by all four of his grandparents.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

A memorial service will be Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Stephen Allen and Min. Bobby Worley officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family of Mr. Jay Gurley for
