Obituary for Floy H. Kidd

Mrs. Floy Howard Kidd, age 93 of Carrollton, Georgia died Wednesday, May 2, 2018.

Mrs. Kidd was born in Stephens County, Georgia on May 31, 1924, the daughter of the late George Lester Howard and Pearl Pitts Howard. She was retired seamstress having worked at Sewell Manufacturing Company in Temple for 30 years. She was a past member of the Woodman Lodge 100 and Rebecca Martin Garden Club.

She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Kidd and her late husband, Bryan “B.B.” Kidd, were active participants in the establishing and work of the Faith Baptist Chapel, a mission of Tabernacle Baptist Church in 1951. In February of 1981 the mission of Tabernacle Baptist Church became Calvary Baptist Church. She served at Calvary in many positions over the years until her health would not allow her to attend.

Survivors include her son-in-law, Wallace Hancock of Carrollton; grandchildren, Willard Hancock, Tonya Thompson, Keith and Melanie Hancock; great grandchildren, David Kawai, Benjamin Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Devin Thompson, Brantley Hancock; sisters, Hazel and Melvin Jackson of Gainesville, Georgia, Dot Kidd of Mt. Zion, Georgia and those she came to love through her second marriage to Bob Riddle; Karen Wade, Robert Riddle, Jr., Walter Riddle and Mark Riddle. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bryan Benjamin “B.B.” Kidd; daughter, Katherine Hancock; grandson, Wally Hancock; grandson-in-law, Scott Thompson; second husband, Bob Riddle; brothers, Verner Howard, Fred Howard, Lee Howard, her twin Coy Howard and Roy Howard.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Friday, May 4 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Funeral service will be Saturday, May 5 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Hancock and Dr. Stephen Peeples officiating. Music will be by Chad Wehunt and Bryant Turner.

Pallbearers will be Willard Hancock, David Kawai, Benjamin Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Devin Thompson, William Howard, Greg Howard and Tony Howard.

Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
