Obituary for Doris Riddle Deese

Mrs. Lillian Doris Riddle Deese, age 83 of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Monday, April 17, 2017.

Mrs. Deese was born in Cleburne County, Alabama on September 6, 1933, the daughter of the late William J. Riddle and Sarah Stapler Riddle. In her working career, she worked for Sewell Manufacturing for 40 years and then she later worked at Carrollton Jr. High School for 10 years. She was a member of North Point Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jay Deese; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Geron Crawford of Blueridge, Georgia; sister, Mage R. Hendrix of Carrollton; five grandsons and 10 great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son, James V. Chatman and brother, J.T. Riddle.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 19 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Funeral service will be Thursday, April 20 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Geron Crawford and Rev. Lee Wimberly officiating.

Pallbearers will be David Crawford, Mark Crawford, John Crawford, Joe Crawford, Jamie Chatman, Josh Chatman and Adrian Chatman. Honorary pallbearers will be Seth Crawford, Zach Crawford and the Silver Saints Sunday School Class.

Interment will be in Old Camp United Methodist Church Cemetery.
