Obituary for Billy Ray Hancock

Mr. Billy Ray Hancock, age 82 of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Monday, August 14, 2017.

Mr. Hancock was born in Marshall County, Alabama on October 17, 1934, the son of the late Bennett Ethel Hancock and Jewell Farmer Hancock. He served in the United States Army from 1954-1956 during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Douglas and Lomason in the chrome plating department and was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Bobby Presnal of Ranburne, Amanda and Michael Morgan of Villa Rica; sons, Ronald Hancock of Carrollton, Donald Hancock of Bowdon; grandchildren, Lisa Williams, Shane Presnal, Mikyla Presnal, Alycea Gentry, Emma Morgan, Jeremy Hancock, Holly H. Smith, Christopher Hancock, Heather Hancock, Dusty Bourgesis; great grandchildren, Sierra Williams, Audrey Williams, Maddison Presnal, Avery Presnal, Sherri-Grace Presnal, Alissa, Cohen and Eisle Hancock and Alivia Pope; brothers and sister-in-law, Edward and Bonnie Carol Hancock of Carrollton, Wallace T. Hancock of Carrollton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Ray Morgan of Carrollton, Brenda and Buford Kittle of Temple, Etheleene Freeman of Carrollton and Marcina and Robby Cash of Centralhatchee. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Hancock; sisters, Viola Thrasher and Margrett Reid.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Funeral service will be Friday, August 18, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Hancock and Rev. Cecil Davis officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Thrasher, Robert Coppett, Caleb Thompson, Ray Morgan, Michael Morgan, and Shane Presnal.

Interment will be in Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery.
